Adele Barrett is a mostly self-taught consulting interior designer, who has never stopped learning about her field.
Over twenty years of conferences and continuing education classes keep Adele Barrett Interiors design practice both on trend and timelessly classic. She started collecting paint chips from the local lumber yard when she was 3 years old, and a seed was planted that grew into a career. Adele earned a decorating certificate from Mohawk College, then went on to start her own business, eventually teaching classes in the Decorating for Home Furnishings Consultant program at the same college.

A young entrepreneur in her mid twenties, she began a business designing and selling custom draperies to compliment her decorating consultations business, her natural talent to coordinate colours and patterns established her as a leader in her field, and propelled her reputation as a friendly and knowledgeable decorator.
In 1990, after acquiring a paint and decorating store and growing that into a successful one-stop decorating shop called Barrett Interiors, The Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (A.R.I.D.O.), recognized her body of work and invited her to join their ranks. Adele recently retired from this association, but continues to practice interior design independently.
Adele Barrett was called upon to participate in many design showcases for charity, home shows, and speaking engagements. She created a decorating school for budding decorators, wrote and published many articles, and her work has been featured in The Toronto Star, Hamilton Magazine and The Hamilton Spectator.
Adele Barrett enjoyed duo careers, store owner and interior designer, she employed many decorators and trained many more in her 13 years as a store owner. Then, in 1998 she decided to close the retail shop and began working from home, to better focus on her design clientele.
Interior design projects of all sizes have been the focus ever since, and recently, Adele has decided to change the scope of her business once again. Interior design consultation is again the main focus, and a unique opportunity for clients to stretch their design budgets has been born.
